Connecting Loxone to Alexa: all options compared
There are four ways to control a Loxone Miniserver with Amazon Alexa: Matter, a hardware bridge on the network, a solution of your own with Home Assistant, LoxBerry, Node-RED, ioBroker or openHAB, and a cloud service such as MFM Voice. Which one fits depends on how much you want to set up and maintain yourself and which route your data should take.

What suits whom?
-
You do not want to tinker or maintain anything
Then a cloud service such as MFM Voice is a good fit.
-
You want everything local, without another provider’s cloud
Then MFM Voice is not the right choice. A solution of your own on a Raspberry Pi or a bridge that works locally is a better fit.
-
You enjoy technology and have time for maintenance
The DIY route is flexible and needs no subscription.
-
Your Miniserver supports Matter
If the range of functions offered there is enough for you, try this route first. Check the current status with the manufacturer beforehand.
-
You want to connect other systems besides Alexa
Then MFM Voice is not the right choice. Matter on the Miniserver, a hardware bridge or Home Assistant cover more systems.
