# How your voice command reaches the Miniserver

Source: https://mfm-voice.com/en/how-it-works

You speak to your Echo device. Amazon understands the command and passes it on to MFM Voice. Our server in Nuremberg sends it to your Miniserver through Loxone remote access. You do not need any additional hardware for this.

## The path of a command

1. **Your voice** “Alexa, Licht im Flur an.” (Hallway light on.)
2. **Echo device** Picks up the command.
3. **Amazon Alexa** Understands the speech.
4. **MFM Voice** Server in Nuremberg.
5. **Your Miniserver** Switches the light.

## What is transmitted – and what is not

### Transmitted

- The recognised command, for example “Licht Küche ein” (kitchen light on)
- The state of allowed devices, such as temperature or blind position
- Names and rooms of the devices you allow

### Not transmitted

- Audio recordings: they stay with Amazon and are not sent to us
- Devices you do not allow
- Your Amazon password

## Requirements

- A Loxone Miniserver with current firmware. Very old firmware without token login is not supported.
- The Miniserver must be reachable from the internet. The simplest way is Loxone Remote Connect, Loxone’s remote access service: no port forwarding on the router is needed.
- An Amazon account at amazon.de, with Alexa set to German
- An Echo device or the Alexa app
- Internet access at home
